New property listed in False Creek, Vancouver West

New property listed in False Creek, Vancouver West

We have listed a new property at 6 1650 1st Avenue W in Vancouver
Perched at the penthouse level of a building designed by Peter Busby — one of Canada's most influential green building architects — this distinctive two-bedroom, two-bathroom townhome is a rare offering where architectural pedigree meets thoughtful, livable design. Renovated in 2019/2020 with full city permits by award-winning architects HaecCity, the home has been featured in both Dwell and Western Living for good reason. The upper level was reconfigured to capture natural light from both the laneway and courtyard, filling the living space with a bright, calming quality rarely found in urban homes. The kitchen was relocated to open directly onto the patio dining area, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living and creating an effortless flow for everyday life and entertaining alike. Along the western wall, minimalist custom millwork conceals the fridge, pantry, storage, and a home office — keeping the main living area clean, uncluttered, and calm. The home's signature feature is a porous steel stair partition inspired by South American courtyard architecture, allowing daylight to filter down into the staircase and entry below and casting a shifting play of shadows throughout the day. Even the space beneath the stair has been put to smart use, housing gear storage and the laundry centre. The result is a quiet urban oasis: a home where sustainable architectural vision, award-winning design, and everyday functionality come together in a way that feels both elevated and effortlessly livable.
