What are the chicest most influential looks inspiring contemporary homes right now?
Modern Wood: with its warmth, grain and texture - modern wood can play a starring role in your home. Designers are embracing it in all forms, from inexpensive timber cladding to more exotic woods. I kept a large wood wall in our living room, despite a few 'Brady Bunch' comments and I LOVE it.
Blues, all blues: It can be calming, invigorating - inject some of this instant serenity into your home. I am a navy blue fan, but I am loving the rich cobalt glossy walls and even the rich teal you are seeing in fashion too...did I really just admit that? With a pop of chartreuse, teal works.
Sixties Chic: Ok, this is right up my alley. Think teak, texture and bold block colour for a new take on mid-centry modern. Furniture is linear and low level. My current listing at #201 2298 McBain was built in the early 70s but with a Sixties Chic update it would be stunning! Check it out.
Industrial Glamour: Redefined luxury with a gritty touch. The friction between two opposite styles gives an unexpected and exciting feel to a space. Bare bricks, concrete, chandeliers - chic salvage!
Green Revolution: I know...indoor plants?? I have not fully embraced this yet, but I do like the waxy leafed fig trees you are now seeing. Not just for outside Whole Foods, you could do a green indoor wall/living art but that seems like a big commitment.
