Here's how the kitchen looked before...

and here's after!

In one of our earlier projects, we used every inch of this well loved and well used family house to full advantage by adding lots of built-ins and storage in every corner. We opened up the doorway between the kitchen and dining room to add to the sense of family gathering. We added a large island and full length of built ins for storage to the dining room to use as a buffet. On the main floor, we created a space for a full office with built in desk and shelving and in the hallway upstairs created two study areas with built in desks and shelving. This was a critical feature as some of the children were home schooled so an inviting, separate space for learning was very important. In the master bedroom, we created his and her closets with a well appointed ensuite. To ensure there was a flow to the home, we used the same tones of smoky blues and taupes throughout with punches of red for fun. All in all, this turned out to be a truly lovely and functional family home.
